Spain is the first country the census has mapped in depth: 10,007 digital agencies and integrators, each with what it sells, the software it implements and, for almost half of them, the clients it works for. Here is the picture, in aggregate.
Two regions, almost half of the market
Catalonia (2,344) and the Community of Madrid (2,113) together hold 45% of the agencies in the country. Andalusia (1,319) and the Valencian Community (1,255) follow at some distance; then the numbers drop quickly: Galicia 403, the Basque Country 392, Castile and León 346.
For a software vendor entering Spain, that concentration is good news: two cities give access to almost half of the possible partners.
Small teams
Of the agencies with a known team size, 70% have ten people or fewer, 24% between 11 and 50, and only 5% more than 50. The Spanish market is a long tail of small, specialised firms with a few dozen mid-sized groups on top.
That shapes how a vendor should work with them: few agencies can afford a dedicated team for a new product, so enablement, ready-made demos and shared pre-sales matter more than a partner portal.
What they sell
- Web (8,141 agencies), social media (6,015) and SEO (5,879) are the most common services.
- eCommerce is offered by 4,479 agencies, AI services already by 2,417.
- ERP and CRM integrations appear in 1,772 agencies: the technical tail that software vendors look for.
The software they implement
WordPress leads (2,248), followed by WooCommerce (1,144), PrestaShop (868) and Shopify (671). Magento/Adobe Commerce (264), Odoo (162), HubSpot (82) and Shopify Plus (83) complete the picture. We look at the software side in detail in a separate article.
Who their clients are
48% of the agencies have clients identified by name, with the sector and the software of each project. The sectors that appear most are food, health, education, restaurants, fashion, tourism and automotive.
The census grows every day. The live figures, by region and software, are in the Spain directory.
